" Hello Everyone, I’m Satya, one of the walk leads for IWAW: Walk to Thrive, which has been running since February 2025. This video is a little introduction to me and my journey as an IWAW member. I filmed it during a beautiful walk from Lisvane & Thornhill Station to Caerphilly Castle—a route filled with stunning views, including snow‑topped Pen y Fan in the distance. I’m hoping to bring IWAW on this walk soon.
The video also gives a small glimpse into the 14 walks we completed together in 2025. If you love the outdoors, want to connect with our IWAW sisters, and are looking for a joyful way to move more, we’d love for you to join us as we explore the beautiful gems of Cardiff and the surrounding areas.
Dr Vaishali Patel- Walk to thrive
I am IWAW Walk To Thrive project lead. My co-lead Satya and I are delighted to share that we have lead IWAW group walks for a year now which we have thoroughly enjoyed with our IWAW sisters many of whom have surprised themselves with their endurance. It has been great to see our IWAW sisters’ continued enthusiasm and commitment in building up this community fulfilling our vision of Women of Indian Origin getting together to build healthy lifestyle, resilience and strength through regular walking and supporting each other in this endeavour!
Kavita - Social Media
Creating digital spaces that inform, connect, and empower our community.
I am the Social Media Project Co-Lead for IWAW, responsible for developing the organisation’s website and digital platforms to establish a clear and accessible online presence. My role includes the creation and management of social media channels, bespoke email systems, online registration and feedback forms, and QR-enabled resources that support effective communication and information sharing. Through this work, I have contributed to shaping a digital environment that reflects our values and ensures our mission is accessible to all. Being part of IWAW’s Walk to Thrive group gave me the confidence to take on the Shine Night Walk Cardiff 10K 2025. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire IWAW team, whose encouragement inspired me to fundraise in support of Cancer Research UK as a IWAW member. I am honoured to be part of IWAW and remain fully committed to supporting the organisation’s aims and objectives.
Chaitali - Bollywood Dance
As a Cultural Cordinator at IWAW, I am deeply passionate about sharing the art of dance with women and children of all ages. My mission is to create a joyful space where we can explore our hearts and express ourselves freely through movement, leaving behind the daily roles and responsibilities that may weigh us down. Together, let’s embrace the rhythm of life and create unforgettable moments filled with joy and connection. Happy International Women's Day Chaitali
Salma Sharieff - Bollywood Dance
As the Cultural Project Lead for Bollywood Dance at the Indian Women’s Association of Wales (IWAW), I use dance as a way to bring women together across generations, from young girls to senior members of our community. I am passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive space where women of all ages can connect, express themselves, and celebrate Indian culture. For me, Bollywood dance is more than just movement. It builds confidence, supports wellbeing, and strengthens the bonds within our community. My aim is to ensure that every woman feels welcome, valued, and inspired to take part, regardless of her age or experience.
Rimpie Mudgal - Well-being Coach
At IWAW, I am deeply committed to guiding individuals toward discovering their authentic needs and aligning them with their life aspirations. My journey as a Well-being Coach has been devoted to helping people move from confusion to clarity, and from intention to meaningful manifestation. IWAW is a transformative initiative focused on personal growth through small yet powerful shifts in mindset and action. The Karuna sessions, led by the founders of IWAW, have profoundly influenced my professional journey. They have strengthened my confidence, deepened my research, and inspired my continuous evolution as a coach. Being part of IWAW has reinforced my belief that true transformation always begins within. Through online healing and life coaching sessions conducted via Zoom, I support individuals in reconnecting with themselves, rediscovering their inner strength, and moving toward a more fulfilling, meaningful, and purpose-driven life. Happy International Women’s Day. — Rimpie Mudgal
